CUA30715:

Certificate III in Design Fundamentals
VET Course for Secondary Students

VET COURSE STRUCTURE

This HDS VET Course for Secondary Students has been designed to complement and build on existing Year 12 Senior Secondary Certificate of Education subjects in creative disciplines, and allows enthusiastic students to further develop practical skills and insight into the design industries.

Successful completion of CUA30715 counts towards the Year 12 Senior Secondary Certificate of Education and appears on the student’s Record of Achievement. However, it does not count in the calculation of the ATAR.

VET QUALIFICATION OVERVIEW

The units of competency in the Certificate III in Design Fundamentals have been structured and sequenced to ensure the sound pedagogical development of skills over the duration of the course. Some units have been clustered for delivery and assessment. Students can select one of two specialist options – Interior Design or Graphic Design.

On completion, students will receive a nationally recognised qualification providing a pathway into further studies with the Hunter Design School up to an Advance Diploma, or give credit for entry into university. Career paths would include areas such as graphic design, digital media, visual communications, interior design, visual merchandising and more.
