ACCESSIBILITY WORKSHOP

As part of the ‘Count Us In’ Newcastle Festival, a month-long program of events highlighting disability inclusion across the city, the Centre for Inclusive Design is offering a free 3 hour workshop for covering:

  • Introduction to Digital Accessibility
  • Implication of inaccessible digital experiences
  • Assistive technologies – how users navigate and read a document
  • Why digital accessibility
  • What is WCAG 2.1
  • Good and bad examples of accessibility
  • Types of Disability
  • Assistive Technology

COUNT US IN NEWCASTLE FESTIVAL

City of Newcastle seeks to facilitate and support initiatives that make our city a more liveable and inclusive community for those who reside, visit and work here.
In consultation with the Disability Inclusion Advisory Committee, it was agreed to acknowledge International Day of People with Disabilities via the establishment of a pilot program of events and activities under the title of Count Us In Newcastle over the period of 27 September until 25 October 2019.
The program includes a wide range of events and activities that demonstrates that Newcastle is a caring and inclusive community.
